"Our requirement was for notice board for public use at an outdoor village location. Preferably this was to be of a design and size to match a board supplied some years earlier to the Parish Council.

This requirement was met in full by GRIPPIT, who had in fact supplied the original board to the Parish Council, albeit whilst trading under a former name. The company was very flexible in approach and produced a modified display board to closely match the dimensions of the existing board at a very competitive price.

Delivery was made on time, to specification, with the packaging of the highest standard ensuring that the board was received in pristine condition. It was very easy to assemble and install and is now in constant use by village residents.

TEACHERS are battling deadly asbestos diseases caught from sticking pupils’ work on classroom walls with DRAWING PINS. Watchdogs warned yesterday that the pins can release lethal fibres into the air in asbestos-riddled schools. Education chiefs in Gateshead and Durham have agreed compensation payouts to two staff who breathed in asbestos.

Seven more cases are pending across the North East, where asbestos remains a cancer hazard in many schools. Kevin Walkin, of the Health and Safety Executive, confirmed: “Pinning work to walls or ceilings may release asbestos fibres.”

Mick Lyons, of teachers’ union the NASUWT, said: “We’re looking at a timebomb.”

The Health and Safety Executive is stressing the danger of releasing asbestos fibres when a teacher pins notices or a pupil's work on a wall or ceiling. The National Union of Teachers had urged the HSE to issue guidance after one of its members was said to have died as a result of fibres being released in this way.
